Reliable water supply is essential across Marnong Estate and SBC Farms, where livestock rely on a network of pumps to supply water to animal troughs across the property. While the existing MATelec Australia HydroWHIZ control panel was already delivering intelligent pump control, the team wanted greater visibility of the system—particularly when faults occurred away from site.
Working alongside Maxijet Pumps, MATelec Australia upgraded the existing installation with InterLINX communication hardware, seamlessly connecting the HydroWHIZ controller to the Propitect IoT platform. The result is a smarter, connected pumping system that provides instant fault notifications, remote system visibility, and greater confidence that critical water infrastructure is always performing as expected.
By integrating modern connectivity with proven control technology, Marnong Estate now benefits from faster fault response, reduced downtime, and improved operational efficiency without replacing its existing control system.
Water supply is mission-critical across the property, with pumps responsible for delivering water to livestock throughout the estate. While the existing HydroWHIZ control panel provided dependable pump control, operators had limited visibility of system performance when away from site. If a fault occurred, it could go unnoticed until someone physically attended the installation, increasing the risk of downtime and disruption to essential water supply.
“Probably the biggest thing is it's such a large property. 50,000L of water, if it doesn't fill, can run out of water with the amount of animal troughs that we're going out to. And often, given the positioning of the tanks, being tucked out of the way, out of sight, if you miss checking them for 24 hours, you can be out of water and the first you know it is the animals are stressed.”
Rather than replacing the existing control system, MATelec Australia upgraded the installation with an InterLINX communication module, connecting the HydroWHIZ controller directly to the Propitect IoT platform. The upgrade enabled real-time remote monitoring, instant fault notifications, and live visibility of the pumping system from virtually anywhere. By leveraging the existing HydroWHIZ infrastructure, the customer gained the benefits of a connected, intelligent monitoring solution with minimal disruption and a straightforward retrofit.
“We can connect and try and help them offsite and resolve the problem as quick as possible. Being able to see what's going on with our system is great and obviously the alarms - so we can see exactly what's going on, which alarm it's in, and if the client's capable, we can guide them through how to get out of that alarm and get the system back up and running.
