Unlike traditional thermal overloads, HydroSTART® continuously monitors motor current using sophisticated electronic current sensing technology. This provides far greater accuracy when protecting motors against overload conditions, reducing nuisance trips while ensuring equipment is protected exactly when required. Electronic current sensing doesn't simply improve overload protection – it unlocks an entirely new level of system intelligence. HydroSTART® can detect changes in motor operating characteristics that may indicate conditions such as:
- Loss of flow
- Dry running
- Blocked or ragged suction
- Internal motor thermostat trips
- High- or low-pressure conditions
By recognising these conditions early, HydroSTART® can automatically alarm, lock out, or alternate pumps before minor issues become major failures.
